Kishi pearls are pearls formed without a nucleus.  The Japanese word means “poppy,” which describes the somewhat flat, flower-like appearance of these elegant pearls.  An alternate spelling is Keshi.  The hole in these lovely bronze pearls is in the center of the bead.
